Greetings Classmates and Prof. Waston:

ok, I hope this is right. I got the idea that I am allowing everyone to view my personal email. I wasn't sure if this blog wasn't connected to it. I really do not have a clue if any of this is right. So, if it is, well I 'll blog then. I am at the moment attempting to make sense of the blog and why we even need it. Obviously, I have never had a blog. Ok, so there it is.

ok, I am commenting on the relaxation exercise. I hope it is in this section that I am supposed to mention this,. I listened to the relaxation exercise and I liked it. It was very calming. It's long, but it is designed to make you be patient and relax. I think that more people should experience a relaxation techniques. If I were a wellness professional I would recommend this or something similar to a stressed out patient. I think after trying this blog, I needed the relaxation exercise,  :) :)
I'll blog later.  :)

  1. A blog is just like keeping a journal or a diary, but the twist is it is completely public for the whole internet to view! I agree that the relaxation exercise was very calming. I don’t know about it being long to teach us to be patience. I figured the purpose of that was to bore us to the point where we get drowsy and sleepy (haha). Yes, I would also recommend this technique to stressed out person as well because I do see potential for it being very effective. I just find it a little bit silly to do when there is no need for relaxation when you’re in a good mood!

  2. Gail-

I too liked the relaxation exercise. It was a bit long, but it was interesting. The instructors voice was calm and and even tone the whole time. The music was set just right, loud enough to know it was there, but not too much to be distracting. This technique would be great for someone who deals with a great deal of stress each day. If all of our exercises are going to be like this, I'm really going to enjoy this class.

  3. I agree with you Lindsey, if we have any more relaxation exercises like this, It would be great, although honestly it may put me to sleep. I am sleepy as it is. But this does provide a means to finding a calming moment in the day when I'm doing classes, to rest and remain calm in my mind to focus on my assignment.

  4. Gail,

I think instead of relaxation exercise that included the narrator, I think I would have them chose a CD that would reflect their concept of their calming bubble.

I know that certain situations have my attentions and I prefer different sounds for the different stresses. This may be others preference as well. As an example I enjoy the sounds of the wolves along with musical accompaniment and other days I am comforted by the sounds of Celtic musical sounds.

It was difficult for me to relax when completing this exercise only because I have been stressed more than normal as of late.
